My name is Jack Boon and I would like to welcome you to my blog. I have been a science fiction and fantasy fan for many years, I am an aspiring author and part-time gamer. My first book will be published soon and available in e-book form initially. Stay tuned for dates and future posts on that subject.
I started reading science fiction at a young age and discovered the joys of fantasy later in life, not long after my first Tunnels and Trolls game (for those of you not familiar with TnT, it is a tabletop RPG. It is not as sophisticated as DnD but just as much fun for someone starting out.) I served more than twenty years in the US Navy which afforded me ample time to read. Some of my favorite genres are future warfare, alternative history, time travel and of course middle Earth style fantasy. I am attempting to write a novel set in the Shadowrun universe, seeing as how it combines many of my favorite elements. I will keep you posted on that also.

Been awhile since I spoke to you. Like everyone, sometimes life gets in the way of passion. Work is, well work. I mean having work is a necessary function to today’s adult, it provides a way to take care of your family, buy the things that make your wife (or whoever) happy, eat; well you get he idea. So anyway, work sucks right now but I am taking measures to fix that particular issue. My elderly mother has recently moved in, due to aging and necessity. It is nice to be in a position to help her.
I would love to say that I have been reading like I want to but busy schedules and children’s events have interfered with that recently. The swim coach for the local high school quit and left them without a coach. I coach a summer team, so i was asked two weeks before the start of the high school season to coach. That took up some time, lots of hoops at the local and stated level to be able coach students. However it has been worth it. I will try my best to be more consistent in posting.
