It seems that every time we turn on the news they are telling us all of the horrible things that are happening around us. We all know that bad news sells, worse news sells more, the questions is how do we stop this ridiculous trend.
I try to keep politics out of my blog because this is not the platform to air such things, I want to keep it about the basics, reading, and writing. But it can be difficult when people we have elected to run our country are behaving so juvenile. One party calls the other a name, so that party responds with an equally immature insult. Then to top off this display of playground antics, we seem to be plagued with politicians that either don’t bother to verify facts they are provided about a subject they know nothing about or worse they don’t care and just pass on the false information and look stupid. Well, I guess that is not exactly true, maybe they really are stupid.
Anyway, what I propose is we strive to put the important things back into educating our children, like learning, fun, and imagination. Let’s teach them skills that will allow them to cope with the morons of politics and deal with the reality we call life. Teach our children to enjoy reading, to enjoy writing and to share those adventures, ideas, and concepts with their friends, family, and anyone willing to read them. Gone are the days of innocence, that has been replaced by a sad imitation we call progress. The children of today are brought up multi-tasking and thinking faster than ever before, we need to harness that ability and steer them onto a course of success and discovery. Challenge your local teachers, school boards, state education departments and of the course federal education department to stop all this senseless testing that serves no useful purpose but to impose stress on children and replace it with something resembling actual education. I know I’m talking to myself, but sometimes it helps relieve my stress with a broken system that is leaving most of our children lacking.
