The World Around You

The world around us is a state of flux. Ever changing and evolving into something new, not necessarily for the better but changing never the less. The questions is how to deal with a world you disagree with. I can not speak for anyone be me, however, I believe that if you disapprove of a policy or practice so much that it drives you to violence you are a part of the problem.

Violence is tried and true way to resolve conflicts but it is also the last resort. Diplomacy is always a better choice. Everyone around you is entitled to their opinion, even if it does not agree with your opinion. Their opinion is just as valid and just as valuable as yours, you need to listen to their side and then present your side.  Somewhere in the middle is a resolution that both of you can live with.  If everyone can practice this simple plan most of the issues that plague us will disappear.

But the truth is the world does not care about your feelings, life is not fair and you do not deserve to be treated special just because you were born. If you truly want to make an impact in the world, you must rise above your self-pity, your groundless accolades for mediocracy and reach for the stars.  You must overcome this illusion that everyone deserves a medal or award just for participating. We are not equal, we are not the same, some people are better than others at somethings and should be recognized for that. Everyone is good at something you just have to look for it, and when you find it, excel, reach for the stars, make the journey to let the world know who you are. If you want to make an impact on the world, don’t allow it to award you for things that are not worthy.

Girls and boys are equal but different, there are areas in which both sexes excel and areas where only one sex excels. This does not diminish one sex from the other but distinguishes that differences do exist between the sexes. I am not implying that if you are a girl you can’t do something equally as well as a boy, but you need to be prepared to either fail or work harder to accomplish the same feat. The same holds true for boys who wish to endeavor in areas that are primarily female dominated. These differences are what allow you to rise above your peers and shine. Be proud, be diligent, be driven to succeed.

The world owes you nothing. You owe the world everything.
